Description and Goals of Assignment

EMF Company manufactures and distributes electrical enclosures for use in industrial and residential building.  The company did not have a website or marketing plan in place.   

Research, Findings, and Recommendations

EMF has little competition but no exposure in the market.  Sales in Dallas were brisk but the company was relatively unknown outside of Texas.

  • Create an ecommerce site that showcases the products and educates potential clients in regards to the different types and sizes of electrical enclosures approved by Nema (The National Electrical Manufacturers Association)
  • Keyword research and competitive analysis
  • Write metatags and content for approximately 2000 products
  • Institute a major link building campaign
  • Identify and recommend association partnerships that can further EMF’s brand recognition

Personal Reflections and Contribution

EMF’s marketing campaign began when the online marketing was in its infancy. The metatag formation, including duplicates, combined with a major link building campaign was sufficient to allow EMF to enjoy years of front page rankings across the major search engines.
